Hilton Johnson and his wife, Lisa, are paving the way in the health coaching industry. They are co-founders of Hilton Johnson Productions, Inc., HealthCoachTraining and HealthCoachingU, beginning back in 1990 by offering innovative coaching programs. They used web-based technology for training, and now they offer a 12-month certification training program that trains people in both health and coaching.

The 12-month certification program isn’t only about health. Included are sales and marketing techniques, because even the best coaches need to know how to get and keep clients. Hilton has worked with some of the industry’s top leaders like Bob Proctor, Brian Tracy, T. Harv Eker, Zig Ziglar, Marcia Wieder, Loral Langemeier and Vic Johnson.

Hilton Johnson didn?t start out with a passion for health. His passions were those of many young men: music and women. Meeting his wife caused him to quit chasing women, but it took something traumatic to pull him away from his rock star dreams. Hilton?s brother died suddenly of a heart attack only a few years ago.

The death of his brother caused Hilton Johnson to stop and take a look at his own health, and in fact, it was his brother?s death that saved his own life. Hilton ended up with a five-way bypass surgery. People all over the world are ticking time bombs of health, but they have no idea anything is wrong. Many diseases ? like heart disease ? have no symptoms until it?s too late.

Not everyone can be a health coach, because like all goals, it’s nearly impossible to succeed without passion. With the passion for health, you’ll also need other vital skills. Marketing, presentation, and good business sense are essential to being a successful health coach.

Some people may think it’s silly, but to Hilton Johnson, a passion for money has to be at the top of your list to be a health coach. Money isn’t important if you already have it, but it’s vital to people who don’t. They absolutely must succeed. So, what exactly does a health coach do anyway? They’re a guide. They help clients find balance in their health and life. Just because you “feel okay” doesn’t mean you’re healthy. Most people don’t eat or exercise properly, they have a lot of stress in their life, and they have bad habits like smoking or drinking. Some people are oblivious to underlying conditions like diabetes as well.

Health coaches help people create a plan of action in their lives, and then they help people carry out that plan to become well-balanced, healthy individuals. This isn?t some sort of half-hearted New Year?s Resolution. It?s a life changing dedication to bettering one?s health.
