The nearer you get to your goal weight, the harder it can be to maintain your resolve to lose the last few pounds.

1. Avoid Plateaus : When you hit a plateau in your results, the natural response would be to have negative thoughts. Don’t - as it is the easy path to quitting for good. Better still, avoid the scale for the week, and give yourself some healthy tasks that will benfit your health like drinking 1 smoothie a day, increase the intensity of interval training by another level or cut out liquid calories completely for the week. Look at spinning some positive attitude to your goals by planning smaller, achievable goals every day. Do this and you will give yourself a sense of achievement and momentum. Once you have that momentum, you can climb ober that mountain.

2. Change you eating habits : Review your eating habits - think twice about what you are putting in your mouth. And plan to eat more mini meals a day, and control your portions by eating from an entre sized plate only. Lastly, when you’re at the supermarket, shop smart and don’t bring home the bad foods.

3. Reward Yourself : But not with food. Again set yourself a weekly or monthly goal and reward yourself with an incentive. Why not deposit $10 into a ‘pamper myself’ bank account towards something special like a new outfit, a spa, or a weekend getaway once you reach a goal. That way, it generates more of an incentive in celebrating your amazing achievement.

4. Get a Friend : One of the missing ingredients that is often ignored. Invite at least one person, and preferably a lot more people, to encourage you, to keep you in line, motivate you, keep you on track. That way, you will be made accountable for your goals to these people. By doing this, you will have a greater chance of more fat loss success.

5. Variety Is Crucial. If you don’t vary your diet or workout, you will get bored and lose motivation fast. Furthermore, our bodies are smart and adapt very quickly to the environment exposed. Repeating the same diet and workout will no longer have the desired impact. Reduce the risk of plateaus, by mixing up the diet and workout on a monthly basis. Changes include, increasing the intensity level or mixing up the meals - which can make a huge difference to your fat loss.
